Construction on the world famous Empire State Building began in March of 1930. Taking a mere 14 months to complete, the Empire State Building was built in record time and was a masterpiece of modern engineering. Towering over Manhattan, the Empire State Building was a record breaking 102 stories, measuring 1,470 feet (448 meters) from street level on 5th Avenue to the top of it's television & radio antenna.

The 86th Floor Observatory is located at 1,050 feet (320 meters) above the city and is open 365 days a year and offers breathtaking 360º views of Manhattan, the outer boroughs and New Jersey.
