Central Park Hotels
Central Park was the first landscaped public park in the United States. Advocates of creating the park urged that New York needed a facility much like the parks in England and France, in order to establish its international reputation. A public park would offer families an attractive, scenic setting for carriage rides and provide working-class New Yorkers a place to relax. In 1853 New York City used the power of eminent domain to acquire more than 700 acres of land in the center of Manhattan.
Today, Central Park is a massive 843 acres situated between Fifth and Eighth Avenues and stretches from 110th to 59th streets. A popular tourist attraction, Central Park has hundreds of things to see and do.
